PENSION SCHEME |
|

|
Through the Pension Scheme, the Government of Tamilnadu provides assistance to outstanding sportspersons who are in need of financial help.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Quantum of Pension
|
|
|
The amount of pension awarded will be Rs. 2000/- per month. The income ceiling to qualify for the pension is Rs. 2000/- per month.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Eligibility
|
|
|
The applicant should have completed 58 years of age and be a resident of
Tamilnadu.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Sports Minimum Eligibility
|
|
|
Sportspersons who meet any one of following criteria are eligible to apply:
|
|
- Any of the first 3 places in individual events in Inter District events.
- First 3 places/winner/runner-up in State Championships conducted
by the recognised State Sports Association.
- Winner/runner-up position in team games in Inter District events.

How to Apply
| |
|
An income certificate has to be obtained from the Tahsildar. The application should be sent to the concerned District Sports Officer (DSO). The DSO will verify the achievement certificates, income certificates, and certify the same. The DSO will then submit the application to the District Collector and forward the same with the District Collector's recommendation.

Selection
| |
|
The High Power Committee constituted by the Government will select the applications and recommend the list of outstanding sportspersons who are in need of financial assistance through the Pension Scheme.
